A little history

Hammam soap have been used since ancient times. It is known that olive soap is one of the first varieties of soaps in soap crafting history. Olive oil began to be used for cosmetic purposes in ancient Egypt. In those days, when the soap had not been invented yet, the ancient Egyptians was smearing with olive oil onto the skin. According to one of the legends in Mesopotamia women were adding ash into olive oil, and thus producing the first olive oil soap.

Traditionally, olive oil soap is made only from olive oil without any additives or other essential oils. From ancient times to the present day, the olive oil is very popular in soap making.

The beneficial properties of olive soap

Natural olive oil soap is excellent in skincare for any skin type. We use only the olive oil produced in Aegean Sea area which is well known for it’s highest quality. Olive oil in ancient times was known as “liquid gold” because it contains a lot of monounsaturated fatty acids and vitamins, which keep the skin young and beautiful. It contains many antioxidant, like vitamins B, A, D, C, K, F, E, oleic acid, amino acids, protein, lecithin, polyphenols that nourish and moisturize the skin, improve blood circulation, stimulates cell renewal, smooth wrinkles and increase the elasticity of the skin.

Olive soap gently cleanses the skin without causing overdrying, tightness or leaving a greasy shine. It improves skin tone and makes it velvety. 100% olive oil soap can be used for skin problems such as eczema and acne. The soap has anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial properties, which are helpful for the skin with akne. Olive oil in this soap protects the skin and fights against free radicals that cause skin aging.

A little tip

Despite all the advantages of olive soap, it provides less lather than the soaps with coconut or castor oil. If you want to get a rich lather from pire olive oil soap, use a bast wisp. The bast wisps from mesh material make the best fit.
